Summer Chat Sessions

Mitney’s BOOST Program offers participants the opportunity to learn new workforce skills and be introduced to industries where those skills are utilized. One way of introducing them to these fields is the “Chat” sessions in which they meet with and discuss work with professionals working in these industries.  This summer, the TECH campers received a visit from City of Georgetown Police Chief Kelvin Waites (top photo, left), Officer Burbage (bottom photo, bottom right) and Horry County Police Officer Jeff Hamilton (bottom photo, standing left) who talked to the children about leadership, responsibility and the use of computer programming and robotics in law enforcement. Many thanks to Chief Waites and Officers Burbage and Hamilton for spending time with these young people!
